Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I had a fall in work 2 years ago and hurt my knee. I went to the doctors and was referred for an X ray, which came back fine. I visited the doctors on a couple of occasions about recurring knee pain and bruising which still happens every few weeks. If I kneel on the affected knee I get a line of swelling Downot the middle of my knee cap which looks like a bulging vein, this tingles and my knee will hurt. After a while the vein like swelling goes down and leaves me with a small dark bruise. My knee is very painful at times but most of the time it throbs.
As per your age and history there is possibility of soft tissue injury in knee. Most commonly meniscus injury occurs.
As per your symptoms you need to do physiotherapy and knee exercises to improve range of motion . If pain persist then you may need to do MRI again to see for any functional defect.
Small meniscus tear can be managed conservatively with physiotherapy with USG and TENS. Meniscus injury can be managed by arthroscopic repair, and same day you can go home. Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
