Suggest Treatment For Pain And Swelling Of The Helix
Well hi there. I was playing rugby yesterday, and sustained a blow to the ear. I now have quite painful, but localised, swelling of the helix. It is not red or soft (as I would expect from cauliflower ear), and is only really that top part. What should I do?
Hi, thanks for the query. In my opinion you have seroma of the pinna or hematoma of the pinna. Both occur because of trauma. If I were your treating doctor would have suggested anti inflammatory medicines like paracetamol + diclofenac comb tablet twice daily for 3 to 5 days along with penicillin antibiotics tab to prevent infection. If symptoms persisrs you need incision and drainage under a specialist guidance. Hope my answers have helped you. Thanks.
