Hi, I am recovering from an ankle sprain. this occurred 5 days ago. I visited the doctor 2 days ago, suddenly tonight whilst trying to sleep i have developed a pins and needles sensation in my foot. I have been walking a little today (not fully weigh bearing) have i just overdone it?

General & Family Physician, Dr. Nishad BN's Response
Hi Thank you for asking HCM I have gone through your query. If pain on weight bearing is there then better to get a local examination by orthopedician and an X ray if necessary to rule out any hair line fracture. If that is clear then it is most likely sprain which is treated by ice pack application, applying elastic bandage and keep leg elevated most of the time. For pain and inflammation if you were my patient I advice NSAIDs like nimusulide and seratiopeptidase. Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear. Thanks.
