Suggest Treatment For Pain Due To Broken Ribs

I have 5 ribs that I broke 5 weeks ago in a severe motorcycle accident. I still cannot work as a middle school teacher. How much pain should I be having by this point? I seem to have about 3 hours of normal light activity in me before rib pain and back muscle pain requires percoet and lying down rest for an extended period of time.
At what point do "I suck it up" and go back or do I wait until I am for the most part pain free?

Thanks for your question on Healthcare Magic.
I can understand your concern.
5 weeks time is sufficient for rib fracture healing.
But you are still having pain which suggests that fracture is not healed completely.
For faster healing, you should take calcium and vitamin d 3 supplements.
Also wear rib belt throughout the day.
Avoid heavyweight lifting and strenuous exercise. Avoid movements causing pain.
I am sure with all these your fractures will heal in 1-2 week time.
Once your pain is gone, you can resume your normal working.
Hope I have solved your query. I will be happy to help you further. Wish you good health. Thanks.
