Suggest Treatment For Pain Due To Chronic Pancreatitis

hi i suffer from cronic pancreas since i was 16 im now 29,, i had a bad attack of pain last week.ive had two nerve blocks 5 years ago is there anythin different tat can be done, the surgeon offered to remove the pancreas but its a major op and my pancreas is s damaged its now almost dead ..

Hello,

Chronic pancreatitis pain management is a multi-modal approach.
Proton pump inhibitors, centrally acting analgesic, pancreatic enzyme preparations, vitamins and minerals supplements
• Avoidance of alcohol, smoking
• Soft, light diet with more preference for liquids
• Avoid all non veg, spicy, dairy fat, high caloric items, junk foods, chilly
• Regular exercise, deep breathing exercises of abdomen, yoga
• Avoid stress, anxiety
• Control of blood sugar, cholesterol, BP, weight, enzyme levels
• Regular sound sleep of 7 to 8 hours
• Epidural analgesia in severe refractory cases
