Suggest Treatment For Pain In Ankle While Skating Post Ankle Sprain
I sprained my ankle, I wanna say 3 or 4 weeks ago skating. For the first week it was hurting alot, now, not so much. But every time I run/twist it wrong it starts stinging again. It feels like a knife is going through it. I ve put ice on it and taken some pills to help, but nothing works. Can someone give me some advice? Should I go see a doctor?

Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement, Dr. Saurabh Gupta's Response
Hi and welcome to HCM From description , it seems you might developed muscular or ligamentous strain over ankle . Now after 3 or 4 weeks if pain is severe ,I would suggest getting this evaluated by an orthopedician for an accurate diagnosis and appropriate management. You may get the MRI of the area affected under his/her guidance. Meanwhile following measures will help with the pain * Rest to the injured part and dont involve in activities which puts additional strain on the injured tissues. * Ice packing should be applied for about 20 minutes once in every 2 hours. * Analgesic & anti inflammatory medications
Hope this will helps you. Take care
