Hello,
You had a full
hysterectomy in March after that you developed pain in the right hand which got better but since yesterday you are also having pain on the left hand. Post surgery pain in the joints and muscles do occur. It can be due to hypokalemia, low blood potassium level that may trigger
muscle fatigue, pain, etc.
Magnesium deficiency may cause similar symptoms. Take care of your general health. Try to take home made balanced food rich in minerals and proteins.
If obese do regular walking in the morning and evening. Maintain healthy weight. Take some time to rest, avoid lifting heavy items, stay away from high-impact activities. Do stretch exercises, stretch muscles gently. You can get a gentle massage done with pain relieving ointment to get rid of muscle sprain / strain. Be gentle with yourself as sometimes nerve compression can also present with similar symptoms.
You can apply ice on the affected area for relieve. Take pain relieving medicines like
acetaminophen or Combiflam, one SOS when needed after food. Do not take it regularly. You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP. Get all required tests and investigations done to rule out or detect ailments that may be causing you symptoms like developing
fibromyalgia, any blood clot,
autoimmune disease,
chronic fatigue syndrome, etc. You will be treated accordingly. Stay away from addictions if any.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
