Suggest Treatment For Pain In Buttocks After An Injury
my son was hit by a car. His pelvis is cracked on the right side in the front and back. He has transverse fractures to L4 and L5 vertebra. His leg and foot tingle and go numb. He gets stabbing pains in his butt. He is in a lot of pain and wants to know how long these symptoms will last?
Dear patient Vertebral and pelvis fracture occurs after high velocity trauma. You need to take strict bed rest for at least one month as this is the minimum time required for fracture to heal and unite. Leg pain might be due to haematoma around vertebral fracture which might be compressing nerve roots. So take rest for full one month. Apply pelvic binder or lumbosacral belt for pain relief. Take diet rich in calcium. And you will be fine in one month.
