My wife is a diabetic, she experiences a very cold chest which causes pain under the jaws, a stretch under the tongue, in the chest and under the arms (lower side of the arms). The pain starts suddenly and stops after about 5 minutes, but today it is persistent. Please help
Thanks for your question on HCM. Since your wife is diabetic and having chest discomfort wjth radiation to jaw and arm, cardiac causes need to rulr out first. Coronary heart disease can be a cause in her case. So I advice you to get done 1. ECG first. 2. If abnormalities are found than directly go for coronary angiography as it is the definitive diagnostic test. If this normal than you should check her sugars and HbA1C level. As many times uncontrolled sugar can also cause this. So consult your doctor and discuss these things.
