Hello,

A platinum plate in the thigh or leg can remain inside lifelong. The mild pain can happen due to mild arthritis. Mild pain killers will help in reducing the pain.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Praveen Tayal, Orthopedic Surgeon
