Hi,I am Dr. Gopal Goel (Orthopaedic Surgeon). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I m a 57 year old female. My main illness is asthma/allergies which for the most part are under control. As I sit here, I have aching throbbing pain up and down my right leg, particularly in the thigh and to the right of my knee and down. It s taking over my life. I ve been limping on my right side for over a week now. I ve had restless leg syndrome for several years. There is a difference between that and what I m currently feeling.
I have studied your case. Due to compression of this nerve root there is pain in your thigh and leg.
I will advise you to do MRI spine For these symptoms analgesic and neurotropic medication can be started. Till time, avoid lifting weights, Sit with support to back. You can consult physiotherapist for help. Physiotherapy like ultrasound and interferential therapy will give quick relief. I will advise to check your vit B12 and vit D3 level.
Hope this answers your query. If you have additional questions or follow up queries then please do not hesitate in writing to us. I will be happy to answer your queries.
Wishing you good health.
Take care
