Hello,
You are suffering from pain in the neck and middle back after injury. Your symptoms may be indicative of muscle sprain, fracture,
spinal cord injury,
joint inflammation, spine metastasis, fractur, herniated (slip) disk, etc. Neck pain maybe due to whiplash, cervical injury, stiff ligament, bone spurs, herniated disks, etc. You are suggested to get clinically examined by an orthopedist.
Get required blood works and imaging tests (X-ray, CT or MRI) done to detect the pathology causing you symptoms. You will be accordingly treated. In the meantime, take pain relieving medicines like naproxen or acetaminophen, one SOS when pain. You can apply pain relieving ointment or sprays on the affected area for relief. Gentle massage and alternately applying heat and cold compression may help.
If no fracture or ligament / tendon tear is detected, get connected to a physiotherapist.
Physical therapy,
massage therapy are of help. Weakness, numbness, tingling may be indicative of serious injury to the spinal cord, you will be referred to a
neurologist for further treatment & management.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Nupur K., General & Family Physician
