Suggest Treatment For Pain In Quad And Difficulty Walking

My quad has been progressively worse with pain & ability to walk. Crutches have really helped. A nurse practitioner read my xray (I assumed it was mine) telling me I needed a hip replacement. I have no hip, groin or pelvic pain...it s the quad that hurts & gives out.

I have studied your case and I think that you might be having knee problem. Usually thigh pain in quadriceps muscle is because of knee arthritis. To confirm this diagnosis I would recommend you to get knee x rays also and see if it is showing any abnormality. If there is no knee arthritis than I would suggest you to start static quadriceps exercises and hot water fomentation, avoid squatting and sitting cross leg. I hope these steps will be useful for you. Let me know if there is any other followup questions.
thanks
