Hello Welcome to HCM..
I thank you for posting your query here and I'm definitely going to help you out..
I being a surgeon, we encounter so many such cases day in and day out..
I read your question completely and have understood it well enough and I can assure that your problem can be solved..
I will analyze all your points and provide necessary explanation and treatment..
1. Firstly, I need to get further details like
A. Your age
B. Gender
C. The size of the
gall stones that you mention..
But, broadly I will go through your query
2. Lateral pain and that too in the lower abdomen could be radiation of the pain arising from gall stones.
Generally, pain is on the right upper abdomen but sometimes it can present like this.
3. CT scan for gall stones.
Did CT scan pick up anything else? Like
diverticulitis, colitis etc
Usg is more sensitive for gall stones than CT scan..
But since
radiologist has confirmed it, we need to see what to do..
A. If stone is big, some say more than 1 cm, some more than 2 cm is an indication for surgery.
Hence size becomes important.
B. If there are any associated things like polyps,
cholecystitis, which is infection of
gall bladder.
4.
Low grade fever with chills again points towards cholecystitis..
5. Please follow these things, it will help you..
A. Drink lot of water, around 4 to 5 litre a day
B. Take Tablet
Pantoprazole 40mg once a day for 10 days.
With this you should improve..
Hope this helps you, in case you need any further assistance, please let me know.
Take care and God bless.
