Suggest Treatment For Pain In The Shoulder And Arm

My husband is having pain that started in shoulder and proceeded to armpit. He went to chiropractor which gave him exercises to do. Then he went to urgent care since the problem has continued to exist. They only gave him pain meds and muscle relaxer. I am wondering if it is stress induced or if it something more serious??

Physical Therapist or Physiotherapist 's  Response
Here when I have any patient like this I will check the shoulder range whether it is complite or not. If range is affected then it could be related to frozen shoulder and need shoulder manipulation , now if range is complite then I will check the isometric muscle contraction that is basically I will ask him to raise shoulder restricting the movement with my hand and will ask about pain. If it is paining then it is related to soft tissue injury. And Need physiotherapy ultrasound therapy and heat pack treatment as well should not take weight and lift over head. In short should not do any activity which can pain. Now say if both the test are confusing then will ask him to get mri done and will plan treatment along with orthopedic opinion. Take care.
