Suggest Treatment For Pain On The Ear

I have a very irritating pulsating dull pain which I have been getting now for about 2 or 3 days. It s not all day long, it just happens every now and again, and it is a bit painful when it happens, although only for a split second. It s in the same place all the time, about 2 inches behind the top of my left ear. I haven t had any other problems. I am a little tired as I have a 17 month old but other than that feel fine. I m just worried as to what it could be. Thanks.

Hi,

Such an occurrence is very rare to have momentary pain persisting for a short time 2 inches behind the top of left ear
-This means it is in the scalp hence the most common causes I can think about are:
- Developing infected sebaceous cyst
- Nerve entrapment due to neck muscle spasm or so

Hence, I would advise you the following:
- Palpate the area for any swelling which is usually very small and tender to touch
- Also, palpate neck muscles to see for any spasm, tenderness or so
Take Ibuprofen or so whichever suits you
- Do not worry
- Consult a doctor if the problem persists

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
