General & Family Physician, Dr. Vasudha's Response
Hi, I understand your concern. Painful vaginal bumps ,in pregnancy is a matter of concern- for vaginal hygiene/health is of utmost importance ,specially from child birth point of view. These bumps can be bacterial/viral/fungal/allergic in origin. Your girl friend needs a physical examination by a gynecologist followed by investigations like blood work & culture of the exudate from sore . the specific treatment then will be advised according to the causative organism found. If it's due to STD & both partners need to be treated for it. I hope the information given helps you. Thanks
