Suggest Treatment For Painful Tightness In Chest On Physical Activity
When I was younger I was diagnosed with a heart murmer. In recent times, I ve discovered that sometimes ( usually when I m stressed) my heart gets extremely tight and feels like it s being squeezed. It s not happening in my whole chest, it s very centralized. I ve also had a couple recent experiences where it happens and in addition the pain kind of spreads across my chest and in my arm. Not sure if this is related. Is this reason to consult my doctor and have anything looked at?
Thanks for your question on HCM. I advice you to consult cardiologist immediately and get done 1. ECG 2. 2d echo 3. Stress test 4. Coronary angiography to rule out coronary artery blockage. Your symptoms like squeezing in heart area with spreading discomfort in arm during exertion is favouring heart problem more. You are also having heart murmur in childhood. So your cardiac problem might be aggravated in adult life and gives you trouble. So better to rule out cardiac cause for your symptoms. Consult cardiologist and discuss all these. You may have coronary artery blockage or heart failure.
