Suggest Treatment For Painful Tongue Caused After Taking Novacaine
My sister age 65 recently had novacaine for a root canal and was left with a painful tongue with a multitude of symptoms. She is ver upset about the amount of novacaine she was given. Prior tro the root canal, she had had a serious abcess from the tooth infection.
Giving Novocaine is a blind procedure. Though all precautions are taken to give the injection at a safe site, some people have an abnormally-located nerve. Accidental injection into the nerve, which supplies the tongue, leads to injury and consequent problems.
An overdose of Novocaine is NOT responsible for the condition.
The problems will go away once the injure nerve makes a spontaneous, complete recovery.
