Suggest Treatment For Painless Hard Bump On The Back Of Head

I have bump on the back of my head that feels as hard as a bone. No pain. Its in the dead center of the back of my head. Horozontally it matches up with the middle of my ear. I d say it maybe like 2/3 of the size of a marble. Is it anything to worry about? Could it just be my skull?

Dermatologist 's  Response
Hello,

I can understand your concern for painless hard bump on the back of head. Let me first reassure you that the bumps is totally benign lesion and has no relation to any malignant growth or any connection to the internal brain tissue.
I can get from your query that you have sebaceous cyst of the scalp area. A painless bump of your kind is most often related to sebaceous cyst of the area. It can be very well excised either by a dermatologist or a surgeon and requires only few minutes for the same. You can take further guidance from your treating dermatologist or a surgeon.
I again reassure you that there is nothing to be worried and the bump can be cured easily.
Take care.
