Hello I have a male friend who is 65 yrs. old he has has stage 2 pancreatic cancer. He is taking drugs for this he quit chemotherapy because he said it was killing him faster. Explosively his doctor told him to just live his life to the fullest. He has had surgeries and tried herbal drugs and even made a trip to India. My question was the doctor correct in telling him to live his life to the fullest or should he try one of the trials that are being offered on a new experimental drug being used. He does not want to die and neither do I. Also he was told stage 2 cancer in men there is nothing you can do
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about your 65 year old male friend having cancer of pancreas and understood your concerns. Since your friend has taken the treatment and also been operated also tried herbal and other therapies, stage 2 cancer may still be operable. Hence the best way for him is to get a second opinion from another Oncosurgeon or best way is to consult the Specialists from the centers that work on Pancreatic cancers. Then only to decide whether to get a trial of new medications and if decided so it is worth getting done as the Doctors are well aware and ready to help further if there is either positive or negative or adverse responses.
