Suggest Treatment For Pancreatic Duct Stones In Urine

On a ct scan to evaluate blood in the urine a pancreatic duct stone, about 10mms in size was seen in the mid body of the pancreas. The distal pancreatic duct is dilated and the distal area of the pancreas has atrophied. I have no pain, I am not diabetic, I have normal bowels. Should I pursued treatment of this asymptomatic stone?

Urologist 's  Response
Hello
Thanks for query.
You have been diagnosed to have a stone of a size of 10 mm in Pancreatic duct which has caused atrophy of the distal pancreas and dilatation of duct .

If left untreated though it is symptomless today is likely to cause further damage to the pancreas and may cause severe pain .

It is better if you consult intervention Gastro Enterologist and get it removed endoscopically by a procedure called ERCP.(Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangio Pancreatography) .
