Psychiatrist 's  Response
Hi,

I can understand your concern due to your panic attacks. The first line treatment of panic attacks is medicines from the group selective serotonin reuptake inhibitors (SSRIs). Cilift is citalopram which is also an SSRI.

If you are not able to tolerate citalopram, it can be stopped and another SSRI like sertraline or paroxetine could be tried. These are very safe and effective medications. You can discuss regarding the same with your psychiatrist.

I hope I was able to answer your query.

Best wishes,

Dr. Sunil Gupta
