Hi, I am 59 yo female with 40yr hx of MS (2ndary progressive), I ve been having issues with pedal edema. I am post menopausal. This is worse with hot weather (no surprise there), but it seems to be more intense unilaterally on the right side, and is pitting 1-2+. Anything I can do to alliviate this?? Or are there other causes I should look into??
HI Well come to HCM Pedal edema in female patients indicates cardiac disease, endocrine disease, anemia, renal disease and these need to be differentiate and for that you need to get done some test like ECHO, Ultrasonography, Renal function test, and endocrine test like blood sugar, thyroid function test, some times nothing comes out in these test, better to keep your legs in elevated position during sleep, hope this information helps, have a nice day.
