You have two different complaints cough for more than 3 weeks and hypertension for more than 2 years.for hypertension if it is correctly diagnosed most of time you have no cause.you have to treat it and keep is under control that is less than 140/90.for that there are few life style modifications such as maintain BMI less than 25 salt and saturated fat restricted diet regular 30 minutes brisk walk alcohol consumption in moderation that is for female it's less than 1 drink per day.and eat diet rich in fruits and vegetables . If blood pressure is very high on presentation we can start treatment with antihypertensive along with life style modifications . But treatment must be under supervision of a qualified doctor . For cough we need to take complete history and do physical examination if needed x ray of chest cn be done.ther are so many causes for this..that need to determined for treatment . So in my opinion you should consult to your physician for complete work up . Hope this will help.
