Suggest Treatment For Persistent High BP

69 year old male with high blood pressure for the last 30 years .taking Zanidip and Mylocand (generic of Atikand plus) Lately finding that puls is about 110 to114 Just taken blood pressure and was lower 136/86 but with pulse of 124?? Under a lot of stress at the moment! What can I do ??

I understand your query and concern.
Persistent high blood pressure should be treated immediately to avoid complications like ischaemic stroke.I advice you to start Tab.Telma once daily.Monitor your blood pressure regularly for every one week.I advise you to get serum.electrolyte s,complete blood picture, ECG,2D Echo,lipid profile as a part of routine screening to look for any heart disease.I advise you to also start take Clopilet,Ecosprin,atorvas once abnormality is detected.Restrict salt intake to less than 6 gm per day.Fruits and fruit juices are preferable.Take plenty of fluids.Avoid smoking and alcohol. Avoid fatty foods. Also take low protein high fiber diet.Exercise regularly for 30 min.Consult your cardiologist for expert management.
