Hallow Dear,

Since the threads of Mirena are neither visible nor palpable, it is likely that it has migrated outside the uterine cavity - may be in the peritoneal cavity by perforating the uterine walls.

Perforation of intrauterine device, particularly in the abdominal cavity can cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal distension, etc.. You are having these symptoms for about 2 months. Therefore it is likely that Mirena has perforated since that date.

Your doctor therefore has advised you Ultrasonography. It will locate the position of Mirena. If it has perforated the uterine wall - partially or completely, you will need surgical intervention for removing the device.

Please follow your doctors religiously. You need Gynaecologist's care.
