Suggest Treatment For Persistent Pain On The Right Side Below The Ribs
Hello- I had a galbladder attack at the beginning of January, was put on nexium by pcp. Checked with my surgeon and had an ultra sound done that came out clean - no gall stones, galbladder extended. CT was clean except a mass in the liver which they said could be a hemagioma and the surgeon said not to worry about it. But I have persistent nagging pain in my right side below my rib. I can t get in to see the GI doctor that my surgeon wants me to see until April 13th, but would like this pain to go away. I also get a lot of headaches with this as well. The galbladder symtoms startes about 4-5 months ago when I started a birth control called Vyfemla to even out my hormones but seems to have started this mess. I went off of it a couple of weeks ago. Thanks, Cheryl
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
I have gone through the history given here and I could say that if this is not the gallstone and even not the biliary colic of disease then it can be acid peptic disease, mostly it is due to hyperacidity. If I would be a doctor of this case then I would try to treat this case with tablet Omeprazole once in a day for five weeks. In differential diagnosis, it can be IBS which is a kind of functional disease. One has to come out of the stress to get rid off.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Akhtarhusain
