Suggest Treatment For Persistent Pneumonia

My husband is in the hospital. He has had pneumonia for the third time. He used to be a smoker. He has been on oxygen for the last few months. He is now taking steroids & antibiotics again. He has had 3 chest xrays. His white blood count was 23,ooo, however it went down in the hospital with antibiotics. the last bout of pneumonia( prior to the hospitalization) was a short time ago. he got better and white count was normal. He and I are scared. the ct scan showed a cloudiness on bottom of lungs. Doctor sas sometimes the steroids do that. HELP

Pulmonologist 's  Response
Hi. I can understand your concern.
He needs CT scan of chest to look for any other cause for recurrent pneumonia. Also he would need a bronchoscopy. Consult a pulmonologist for the same.
Don't worry, he will be alright.
Hope I have solved your query.
Wish you good health. Thanks.
