Suggest Treatment For Phlegm In Throat And Bad Taste In Mouth

I am 27 years old, am 5ft 6 and weigh 10st. I am normally quite healthy but for the last 4 months I have had really horrible tasting phlemn in the back of my throat, it's not going away and is giving me repulsive tasting and smelling breath. Does anybody know how I can get rid of it?

I have gone through your query and can understand your concerns..

As per your complain phlegm at the back of throat and bad taste in mouth along with bad smell can be most probably due to sinus infection or sinusitis..
The other causes can be upper respiratory tract infection, acid reflux, post nasal drip, nasal polyps etc..
I would suggest you to consult an Otolaryngologist and get evaluated and a thorough clinical evaluation can help in diagnosis..
He can also advise you nasal endoscopy, PNS view of x-ray, MRI scan, upper G.I endoscopy as per requirement and treatment can be planned according to the cause..
In case of sinusitis antibiotics, anti-inflammatory painkiller, decongestants, mucolytics and steam inhalations, warm saline gargles and saline nasal irrigation can be advised..
