Hi My age is 30 and from the last 10 years I am having sore throat and always tries to clean it. Seems its having lot of mucus in my throat which affects when I start talking because every 5 seconds I need to clean my throat. Previoisly I consult ENT which prescribes Lidocaine ,mucinex and Metaspray I had a relief but for sometime ,now its worsen more than before. Please help.
Hi, Welcome to healthcare magic. I had gone through your question. I can understand your concern. Frequent clearing of throat and mucus could be due to post nasal drip of sinus pathology. I recommend the following. 1) A course of antibiotics. 2) Antihistaminic like levocetrizine with montelukast. 3) Steam inhalation to promote sinus ventilation and improve sinus drainage. 4) Avoid smoking as this might aggravate this condition. If you are non smoker kindly ignore this suggestion.
