Hello. Thank you for writing to us at healthcaremagic
Oily skin is prone to get
acne. Acne in oily skin can last for months and even years.
The topical gel that you have been using contains
clindamycin 1% gel which is an antiacne antibacterial for inflammatory acne.
However, in acne and oily skin conditions, it is also desirable to use a topical preparation that would not only prevent new acne formation as well as treat existing ones.
Topical
retinoids e.g topical
adapalene is one such product. Adapalene gel is anti-inflammatory as well as comedolytic.
On account of its comedolytic action it would prevent initiation of new acne while treating existing ones.
Topical adapalene is therefore ideal for maintenance as well.
Retinoids also help lighten the spots/ marks left over by previous acne.
I suggest that you visit a
dermatologist in your region. Your dermatologist will assess the exact skin condition and advice accordingly.
