My husband has a nickel size, red raised bump on his face that has been there for four days. We thought it could be a horse fly bite or a underground pimple. It is very red. We are applying hot compresses and neosporin. It seemed to be getting better but now it looks worse. It was painful the first few days but now it is not. There is no puss coming out. What do you think?
Hi. As per your case history your husband is having multiple furuncles on face. My treatment advice is - 1. Don't squeeze the lesions as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a mild antibiotic cream like fusiderm cream twice daily on it. 3. Take a NSAID like ibuprofen for pain if present. 4. Other treatment options are oral antibiotics like levofloxacin, cefadroxil and azithromycin taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Thanks. Dr. Harshit bhachech. MBBS, DDVL.
