Hi. I have had small pimples on my thighs a couple months ago. They looked like ordinary pimples. They felt like that. There was Also a huge boil below my belly button at one point but it looked like a sweat boil with puss. All pimple scars are on my buttocks and thighs. I do have safe sex. I am disease free. Are these ordinary pimples because I don t shower very well often? My recent physical showed I was perfectly healthy apart from being 25 pounds overweight.
I would keep a possibility of bacterial infection of the hair follicles/folliculitis.
If I was the treating doctor I would have advised an empirical oral antibiotic for a week OR 10 days (My choice of oral antibiotic would have been Amoxycillin 500mg in combination with clavulanic acid 125 mg, thrice daily, for a week OR Cephalexin 500ng thrice daily OR Cefadroxil 500mg twice daily, for a week).
An OTC antibacterial cream e.g 2% mupirocin can be applied twice daily in addition to the oral antibiotic.
I suggest you to get a fasting blood sugar levels, as raised blood sugar might be a cause of recurrent skin infections in your case.
Regards
