My son was diagnosed with pink eye three days ago. He has been taking the prescribed eye drops but now has scabs all over his nose and bottom of his eye on the eyelid. He won t stop scratching! Could this be an allergic reaction to the eye drops and how do I treat it?
I reviewed your history. The symptoms of itching and pink eye indicate infective conjunctivitis. If I were to be your treating doctor I would have treated the condition with antibiotic eye drops and anti-allergic drugs. Usually the antibiotic eye drops rarely cause allergy. However this can be treated with anti-allergic drugs. Do send the treatment details and photo of the affected eye so that I can advice you more accurately.
I reviewed your history. These symptoms of scabsover nose indicates probable allergy to the eye drops. This requires treatment by stopping the offending eye drops and substituting it by alternate eye drops. Use of anti allergic medications is required for the treatment of the present condition.
Thank you
