My implanon was broken after 1 year of having it. Approximately 6 months later, I had it removed. I was 15 at the time of getting it inserted (mothers request) and 17 when it was finally removed. I have also just been diagnosed with polycystic ovarian disease and would like to know if this may be a result (or possibly an impact) of my recent diagnosis?
Hi, I have gone through your question and understand your concerns. Implanon is a progesterone hormone implant and it has no role in development, aggravation and treatment of the polycystic ovarian disease. There is absolutely no connection between implanon and polycystic ovarian disease. Hope you found the answer helpful. Wishing you good health. Dr Deepti Verma
