Suggest Treatment For Pressure And Burning Sensation In The Neck
I had a total thyroidectomy 2.5 years ago. I had cancer in my thyroid and two lymph nodes. Ever since surgery, i have had pressure and burning sensations on the left side of my neck. Some days are worse than others. I ve talked to my doctor about it repeatedly and he can t seem to figure out the cause and cure. My lab results always come back normal. I m now experiencing pain inside of my throat (left side) when i swallow. What could be causing this?
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history of Thyroidectomy 2.5 years ago for cancer, since then you have pressure and burning sensation on the left side of the neck. Now have a pain inside the throat on left side on wallowing. The commonest reason is nerve entrapment in the scar tissue . The treatment can be in the form of medicines like Gabapentin or surgical revision of the scar. Consult your Surgeon and discuss this, he may be willing to accept and help you by trying either of it.
