Suggest Treatment For Pressure And Needle Pricking Sensation On Head
When ascending in an airplane, I am fine, the entire flight I am fine, and then as soon as we start descending, it feels like someone is poking me in the forehead with a bunch of needles and my head feels like it s about to explode. Holding my forehead and applying consistent pressure alleviates it for a few seconds, but I have to keep doing that or it immediately comes back. I fly a lot for my job and need to know if there is something I can take to feel better or to cope with this pain better.
Hello, your problem is due to sudden atmospheric pressure changes during decent of a fight. it occurs because of the blockage of eustachian tube ( the tube which connects our back of nose to ear). it is definitely painful and sometime may cause temporary blockage of ears. my sincere advice is to keep on swallowing at the time of descent to maintain the ear pressure normal. you can suck sugar candies, chew chewing gums or take repeated sips of water. I am sure it is going to definitely help you. Have a nice day... Bye
