Suggest Treatment For Problem In Heart Valve And Hotness In Upper Ear Lobe
I have heart valve problems, regurtation. Have been in Costa Rica for two months. Need to know if I should go back to the states. My left upper ear lobe is extremely hot. I am on a mild blood pressure med which I have increased on my own judgement and it has not helped. My resting heart rate is95. Up to 105. What should I do?
Hi welcome to HCM. Elevated blood pressure could be secondary to the underlying valvular heart disease. This needs to be carefully assessed through a 2 dimensional echocardiography to detect the severity.Correction of the underlying valvular heart disease can lead to correction of blood pressure to a large extent.Restrict the intake of salt to less than 6 gm/day.Extreme hotness of the earlobe can be due to any external ear infection ,unrelated to ear disease. This has be addressed through expert consultation with an otolaryngologist.Maintain the blood pressure under 130/80 mm of hg.Heart rate will come down to normal range once the blood pressure settles down.Regurgitation through valves can be controlled through definitive procedures like valvuloplasty and valve replacement.Consult your cardiologist for further queries. Thank you.
