Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My boyfriend has a prolapsed hemorrhoid. Every time he tries to go to the bathroom they get painful again. In turn, he cannot move his bowels in several days. They have bled as well. He is also in pain of course. They calm down after a sitz bath and some witch hazel treatment, however, every time he tries to move his bowels he is back to square one. Should he go to the ER at this point?
yes, i do think u need to go and consult a surgeon as soon as possible. its appreciable that you are using the technique is sitz bath as it relieves the pain along with maintaining hygiene but prolapsed haemerrohoids needs to be physically examined and then treated accordingly.
i hope this answer your query. Please feel free to ask any question if you have any concerns. wishing for your boyfriend's quick and speedy recovery.
