My husband has long suffered from overall pruritis to the point that it interrupts his sleep and drives him crazy. We have tried all kinds of creams and lotions and a dermatology assessment eliminated infection, fungal or bacterial...He did have BCB treatment for bladder cancer several years ado and I wonder if this is a rare side effect. At any rate, a solution is something we are always seeking. Any ideas?
As per your case history of generalized itching, my treatment advice is:
1. Don't scratch the skin as it may worsen the condition. 2. Apply a soothing lotion like calamine lotion on affected region twice daily. 3. Take an antihistamine medication like levocetirizine twice daily for 7 to 10 days. 4. Other treatment options are oral steroid, hydroxyzine taken only after consulting a dermatologist.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
