Suggest Treatment For Pull In Groin Muscle

My boyfriend feels like he may have pulled a groin muscle. I was wondering what is the groin muscles purpose and how can I help him feel better as it bothers him when we have sex. He does lift heavy objects on the job what can he do to protect himself from pulling this muscle?

He need to avoid lifting heavy objects for time being and he has to do hot and cold pack use alternatively where it pains him. Groin area is very sensitive so I suggest to use light heat as well as light cold pack. As well he can also take some pain killer for time being. Even having see also should be avoided for time being. Or else he will end up having severe pain in future and that time recovery will take some time.
Thumb rule is avoid all the activity which pains him for time being and find some alternative to do it in a different way by doing it.
Even after doing all I suggest if he does not pain then do check for swelling as well redness in Groin area and do visit a doctor because it may be some sort of infection too. Hope this was useful to Take take care.
