I went to my doctor and he said that I would be fine after my echocardiograph.. which the conclusion says..which I only got a hold of 2 days ago i.e History of prior VSD surgery is noted. There is moderate pulmonary regurgitation and physiological tricuspid regurgitation. Flow across the aortic and mitral valve is normal. The right atrium appeARS LARGE RELATIVE TO THE SIZE OF THE REMAINDER OF THE HEART. The x-ray says being an ex smoker with dysponoea on exertion. VSD repair as a child I.e conclusion states..Further cardiac evaluation is recommended. The cardiac contour suggests persistant enlargement of the left atrium with some prominence of the pulmonary artery segment. There is a mild unfolding of the aorta and systematic hypersention should be excluded. I was also born with Spina Bifida x-ray of the Lumbosacral spine shows..Mild reduction in the intervertebral disc space at L5/S1 suggesting degenerative disc disease. For the past 2 months or more I have been experiencing these symptoms..daily..tingling tongue, pins and needles on lips..bottom of legs and arms..also face at times, Cold pangs throughout the body periodically but daily.. two end fingers are numb and tingling, major shooting pains and headaches throughout my head as I am having to hold until the pressure pain releases but is not gone completely. Stabbing pain under left breast which I have to hold tightly until it subsides..which then makes my body go weak and I feel as though I am passing out. Please help as I am 47 yrs old andhave a 4 1/2 yr old in my care.
Pulmonary regurgitation treatment depends on the severity of condition. Incase it is asymptomatic it can be left as it is without any major intervention. In case there are mild to moderate symptoms often meications are the first priority followed by surgical repair. In case of severe symptoms surgery is the only option.
