Suggest Treatment For Pus From Ear After Grommet Implant Fell Out

My daughter had a grommet implanted in her ear about six years ago, a couple of months later the first grommet fell out except one that remained in her ear until today - grommet came out in a ball of pus. Is this normal? She feels ill and has a temperature.

Hi

Welcome to HealthcareMagic forum

The grommet usually stays for around six months to one year, after it has been placed in the ear. Normally, it gets extruded after this period.

The present discharge from the ear could be because of blockage of the Eustachian tube. Please, consult your doctor for a complete evaluation and management.

Regards
