Suggest Treatment For Pus Full Lump On Face

i have what seems to be hives on my face- first I itch then a lump breaks out, then a straw colored liquid comes out and the lump is smaller, then it dries up and flakes. Has been going on fore years now but has gotten worse. Used to be at jawline but now is all over. I am taking Wellbutrin (side effect?) Datologist prescribed Finacea and it helped but it it is too expensive! ( used a sample ) Hives cleared up quickly and my skin felt so much better- smoother and more even in color. I think this is causing my skin to be tougher and thicker and scarred! Help! I d also like to find the cause and not just treat symptoms.

Hi Dear,

Welcome to HCM.

Understanding your concern. As per your query pus full lump on face occurs when a pore in your skin gets clogged with dead skin cells and start causing infection there. It could be due to intake of Welbutrin as well. I would suggest you to exfoliate gently once or twice a day with a salicylic acid-based exfoliant. Drink plenty of water. Take diet rich in multivitamins. Apply benzoyl peroxide cream or gel for killing the bacteria in the pore. Wash your face using a mild soap or cleanser and lukewarm water 3-4 times daily. If condition doesn't improve in a week then consult dermatologist for proper diagnosis. Doctor may prescribe oral antibiotics like clindamycin , Isotretinoin or Hormone Therapy.
