Hi,I am Dr. Subhankar Chakraborty (Gastroenterologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
my rectum has been bleeding quite a bit of red blood for two days now.. its even staining my underwear..i have regular stool and have had hemorroids but this is not a normal for me where its just constantly leaking..even when i just urinate blood comes out of my rectum and passing gas shoots the blood out..
Hello and welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
Noted the history of shooting of blood out of rectum even on urination, staining the underwear for 2 days now, have regular stool, have had hemorrhoids. Since there is a history of hemorrhoids it is one of the three hemorrhoids that must have been ruptured to cause the bleeding even on straining.
I would advise you the following in such a situation. Consult a General Surgeon or a Proctologist for per-rectum digital examination, ano-proctoscopy and colonoscopy to find the causative thing and may need emergency ligation. Take laxative and high fiber diet.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards, Dr. T Chandrakant
