Suggest Treatment For Recurrent UTIs

I have been tested and treated for 3 UTIs since may of this year. I take all of the medication and within a week or so the bad urine smell is back. That is the only symptom I have now. It doesn t show up on the test they do in the office but when sent out to the lab there is a trace of infection. Is there another treatment? I was on first a 3 day treatment, then another 3 day, then an additional 5 day treatment of macrodantin.

Thanks for query.
You have repeated episodes of UTI over a short period and have taken antibiotics with short term improvements.

Please get your routine urine test and urine culture done to find out the organisms causing this infection and antibiotics to which they are sensitive to.

Please take broad spectrum antibiotics like Cefixime along with urinary antiseptic like Nitrofurantoin twice daily and urine alkaliser thrice daily.Later on switch on to appropriate antibiotics as per culture report.

Get the prescription of medicines from your family Physician.

Ensure to drink more water.To keep your urine dilute This will help to control symptoms and normalize odor of urine.
