Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Hairfolic Infection On My Left Hand

hello doctor, during march-2013, in my left hand near elbow I had a small bump which was termed as hairfolic infection by the doctor. thru x ray it was confirmd that the infection has not reached the bones. I was advised to undergo minor surgery for that and it was removed. now jus above the same place, I ve got a small bump as similar as before. and the pain is also same, getting more by time. full hand is paining. I am afraid whether the same infection wud be ther n shud I undergo surgery again? why this happens and I am confused abt this. kindly reply

Hello,

Perhaps you have a skin infection. I suggest you may take an oral antibiotic e.g Amoxicillin and clavulanic acid for a week. It would take care of the infection.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Kakkar S., Dermatologist
