Suggest Treatment For Recurrent Sinus Issues Despite Taking Antibiotics

I have sinuses issues really bad. I have had for past 6 years. Several sinus surgeries more than 5. Constantly on antibiotics and flush sinus daily. I had a neck injury 10 years ago which required two surgeries first to fuse 6,7 and then two years later 5. Rough recovery. About 2 years went by and I felt much better. Still had some pain, but could live with it and function well. I then got a severe sinus infection from a bad wisdom tooth that grew into my sinuse. It was impacted and rotten. Anyway from that point on my sinus have not been the same. I know I have had problems above and below the fusion since. The hardware may be irritating it. I don t know, but I now feel there is a connection with my neck injury and my sinus/allergy problems.

Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service.
I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.

As per your given history, it may not be a simple case of recurrent sinusitis.

There had to be an underlying cause such as infected Nasal polyps, Deviated septum or may be improperly treated Upper respiratory tract infections.

Also, reduced neck mobility can also sometimes pitch in for sinus problems.

You can consider neck stretching, yoga and therapeutic methodology with the help of a registered practitioner. Also try to consult your ENT specialist to rule out any above mentioned causes.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Penchila Prasad Kandikattu
