Suggest Treatment For Recurring Boils On The Forehead

My friend says he hasn t used drugs in over 3 months. I know he was a cannabis user but suspect he used harder drugs. He has recurring boils on his forehead. Is this is a sign of hard drug use & how can he get them cleared up? He has been to the doctor & was given ointment.

Hello, from the history given, the lesions are bacterial folliculitis.
If the lesions are many, i would adv a course of oral antibiotics with cap Cephalexin 500 mg four times a day for 7 days...along with application of mupirocin cream twice daily on the lesions as well as anterior nares (to eradicate the carriage of Staphylococcus aureus , if any) to prevent the recurrence.
Thanks
Take care.
